Bosnia and Herzegovina donated books 50.000 BAM worth to students of Afghanistan
H.E. Ambassador of BiH in Pakistan, Nedim Makarević handed books donation worth 50.000 BAM to ambassador of Afghanistan in Pakistan, Jannan Miosazai who will forward the donation to the Ministry of Culture and Education in Kabul.
Ambassador Makarević explained his motives regarding this donation: “Since I am ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Afghanistan as well, during my latest visit to Kabul, through conversations with many students’ societies, I realized that they are in really difficult economic situation and that they need financial help. Afghanistan, as well as Pakistan has problem with the increased number of young and perspective people who are leaving the country and going to live abroad.” To avoid this, conditions must be improved in general, and first thing to be done is to make studying easier. Since professional literature is very expensive and students can hardly afford it, ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina think that this gift is adequate for students of Afghanistan.
Even though the donation was handed on behalf of country Bosnia and Herzegovina, the money for buying the books was not taken from budget of the embassy of BiH in Pakistan, but rather it has has been prepared from different private sources. For more information, please visit klix.ba!
Dr. Makarević donated books to students from Palestine and Afghanistan
H.E. ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Pakistan, Dr. Nedim Makarević handed two donations in terms of books with total value of 30.000 BAM to Afghanistanian and Palestinian students who live in Pakistan. Visiting many universities in Pakistan, Dr. Makarević met hundreds of young Palestinians and Afghanistanians who are good students, but with very bad financial status which caused lack of professional literature. Considering fact that their countries are not able to provide them with scholarships, the feeling of emphaty to provide private help resulted in this private humanitarian activity. Palestinian ambassador in Islamabad, H.E. Valid Ebu Vali emphasized that this is a wonderful example of helping that should be followed by other colleagues. President of Union of Afghanistanian students, Zahid Rehman characterized this as a wonderful gesture that no one conducted previously, and expressed gratitude to ambassador. Plane full of several millions worth help for people affected by floods, landed in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Plane Hercules 30c, full of help worth several millions intended to help people affected by floods came to Bosnia and Herzegovina from Islamabad. There was 13 tons of different products mentioned in the list of Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the plane. This highly appreciated help was approved by the president of Pakistan, Nawaz Sherif and it has been sent by the Ministry of foreign affairs of Pakistan. H.E. Makarević expressed deep gratitude to the president on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Million dollars to flooded areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina
In the donation conference held in July of year 2014, the help for flooded areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina in value of 1 million of dollars has been promised and realized. Dr. Makarević was very grateful for this selfless help by Pakistan, especially considering fact that Pakistan itself had huge problems with floods just few weeks ago. The government and nation of Pakistan definitely deserve gratitude of people of Bosnia and Herzegovina for this action.
