Dr. Nedim Makarević is an example of an advocate for peace, tolerance and inter-religious dialogue. The song he recorded together with his friends from Pakistan, entitled “We can work it out” (Beatles cover) is the best evidence for this statement since this activity has been inspired exactly with values such are peace, tolerance and inter-religious understanding.

On 16th December 2014, 130 children and 12 adults have been killed in Peshawar Army School. It was unfortunate that the world community did not pay adequate respect to the Peshawar massacre victims as they did to those killed in Paris. We should not have the perspective that someone’s life is more valuable. Lives of all people are equally important, and they should be perceived in this manner.

The intention of recording this song was to show appreciation to all human lives, to improve understanding among different groups of people characterized with different religion, ethnicity, race etc. The song promotes dialogue and tries to prevent conflicts in the world.

Lyrics of song are as follows:

“We Can Work It Out” (The Beatles)

Try to see it my way
Do I have to keep on talking till I can’t go on?
While you see it your way
Run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone
We can work it out
We can work it outThink of what you’re saying
You can get it wrong and still you think that it’s alright
Think of what I’m saying
We can work it out and get it straight, or say good night
We can work it out
We can work it outLife is very short, and there’s no time
For fussing and fighting, my friend
I have always thought that it’s a crime
So I will ask you once againTry to see it my way
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong
While you see it your way
There’s a chance that we may fall apart before too long
We can work it out
We can work it outLife is very short, and there’s no time
For fussing and fighting, my friend
I have always thought that it’s a crime
So I will ask you once againTry to see it my way
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong
While you see it your way
There’s a chance that we may fall apart before too long
We can work it out
We can work it out
